Apprentices in Wales have a new champion – National Training Federation Wales chairman Arwyn Watkins.
The 46-year-old managing director of the Cambrian Training Company has just taken over from Terry Jones at the helm of the organisation, which represents 80 deliverers of post 16 learning. A former apprentice himself, he is passionate about the scheme and equally passionate about the youngsters who take them up getting a fair deal.
He has pledged to make the NTFW the “leading voice” in delivering work-based skills in Wales and believes that it is in a unique position to ensure the success of the Welsh Assembly Government’s drive to improve the provision of education and training for the Welsh.
