This event is an ideal opportunity to keep abreast of what’s happening in the L&D profession today and to find out about future trends that will impact on how workplace learning is managed and delivered.

Sessions

The Strategic Evolution of L&D

Progressive L&D functions use their role to stimulate change in organisational performance and enhance the sense of relevance and impact of HR in the heart of the business. Based on research by Bridge and the CIPD’s Next Generation project, Lee Sears and Sue Stokely will look at the evolution of HR globally and paint a tantalising glimpse of just what an ‘Insight Driven’ L&D function can deliver for a business.

The new L&D business partner

TJ’s L&D 2020 research used scenario thinking when instigating its initial investigation into the future of learning and development. Paul Fairhurst from the Institute for Employment Studies will present some of the emerging findings of this work with John Baker from Legal and General providing illustration of the new principles that have been applied in the business and worked to deliver a significant shift in the way learning takes place and its effectiveness.

Skills and learning for the next decade

To cope with the demands of the changing economy the learning and development specialist must acquire greater self-belief and a clearer sense of perspective. Martyn Sloman believes that this demands a new way of looking at our world. In this interactive session he will explore what he feels are the key skills for the new L&D professional.

A snapshot of the market

The annual Cegos International Survey is one of the most comprehensive reviews in the L&D industry covering over 2000 employees in France, Germany, Spain and the UK. Francis Marshall will be looking at the findings and how they relate to access to learning, delivery channels for learning and any indicators found on new trends and/or modalities.
