The e-learning and managed services organisation, The Edvantage Group, which has offices in the Nordic countries, Benelux and the UK, achieved the Deloitte ranking of 134th place on the 25th November 2008.
The award is based on the fastest annual growth of technology companies in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) during the past five years. Last year the company ranked at 209th place. This year it achieved 1237.78 per cent revenue growth, in comparison to 844 per cent the previous year.
Thomas Berglund, chief executive officer (CEO), Edvantage Group, said: “We are honoured to be acknowledged for our innovation and growth. This award confirms the desire clients have for a managed learning service approach, where a single partner puts together all the elements of an e-learning solution and is accountable for delivering quality results.”
The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA award was created in 2001 and includes all areas of technology. The ranking is based on the results of a CEO survey which are filled out by the technology companies and assessed by Deloitte. The survey examined the business trends and key concerns and expectations of sector CEOs. It found that finding, hiring and retaining qualified employees are high on their operational agendas.
Berglund added: “We believe highly skilled employees will be important to organisations’ growth in the future, particularly at times of economic uncertainty and increasing competition. Building skills, increasing employee performance and sharing knowledge through e-learning are an important part of an organisations’ talent strategy.”
Andrea Miles, managing director, Edvantage Group UK, said: “From a marketing point of view we now have better visibility about the growth of the company. This is based on the performance of the business and without Deloitte’s ranking there would not be a platform to show growth in our sector.
“The advantage from the perspective of a UK manager is that being a European award it shows our capabilities of being an EMEA player, not just in the UK. What we have done as a result, is to invest in our core technologies and the architecture of the applications into our Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model, which has proved its robustness and scalability. Particularly at the moment as there is a lot of consolidation.”
According to Miles this means Edvantage is able to scale its client’s learning propositions when they are going through acquisitions. She added: “So we can then scale our technology to support their acquisition strategy. We are now in the top 150 companies and this is confirmation that we are doing well and our customers are supporting us through that. It is a big payback to our team. The company has been acquiring for the last five years and this shows that the acquisitions are working because the company is growing and we are successful and investing in our technology, allowing us to acquire and grow quickly.”
